Carpenter’s Creek is getting a new bridge on 9th Ave., next to Publix. This is a very important Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project. Public officials and FDOT need to hear from the public and the neighborhoods that are impacted by flooding and other problems on the creek.
Sherri will have a charrette type Town Hall to take comments from the public to make sure the new bridge is not only the right bridge for the creek and environment, but that it is architecturally and esthetically designed with lighting, traffic calming, pedestrian safety and other amenities.
Beetle Mania: Information regarding a project to eliminate the invasive air potato vine on Carpenter’s Creek using a beetle will be available. (Putting nature to work)
Updates on the RESTORE funding for Carpenter’s Creek and Bayou Texar will be provided. Further dates for Carpenter’s Creek clean up events with the Emerald Coastkeeper, Inc. will be announced by Laurie Murphy, the Executive Director.

CDAC would like to remind community members to dispose of expired, unwanted, and unused prescription drugs safely. October 28, 2017 is National Take Back Day and has been set aside as a reminder to all to take responsibility in helping prevent Prescription Drug misuse and abuse. Let’s join together to be part of the solution and dispose of unused, expired or unwanted prescription drugs safely.

The Gulf Breeze Masonic Lodge is proud to offer a FREE fishing clinic for the special needs citizens in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. All participants will receive a rod and reel to keep, an event T-Shirt and lunch for the entire family. Volunteers will be available to help during all phases of the clinic. All special needs participants will receive a t-shirt, lanyard, rod & reel and bait. Family members are welcome to bring their own fishing tackle if they would like to fish with the special needs participant. Lunch will be provided for the entire family.
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring sunscreen.
