However, the pool will  remain open only until the Roger Scott Swimming Pool construction project is completed in late June or early July.  Once Roger Scott Pool opens, Hunter Pool will close for the season due to 2010 budget reductions and for needed renovations and repairs.  Renovations at Hunter Pool will include repairs and upgrades to the men's and women's locker rooms, minor repairs to the deck area, minor repairs to the tent canopy and the purchase of new deck furniture.  In addition, should sufficient funding be available, several water play features will be purchased to make the pool more enjoyable for youth and the "young at heart".

Renovations continue at Roger Scott Swimming Pool

Renovations, which started in March, are in full swing at Roger Scott Pool.  Noticeable changes have been made to the lay out of the dive tank, tot pool and pool deck.   The dive tank is well on its way to conversion into a zero depth entry pool.  Modifications on the tot pool have begun to accommodate the new spray features that will be added to the existing tank.  The concession building has been completed as well as the new entryway cashiers booth.  For a complete update with photos click here.

Sanders Beach Park

Sanders Beach Park is still currently being renovated, but is open to the public.   New renovations to include a public restroom, new park walkways, park irrigation system and turf throughout the park.  The park gazebo will also have new picnic tables.  If you have not visited the park in the last month, take a trip with the children and let them enjoy the new playground structure while you enjoy the view of Pensacola Bay.  For a complete update with photos click here.
